Lucie Heraiz Cunningham, the founder of Delft MaMa, is leaving Delft for her family’s new life chapter in Glasgow, Scotland. We had a goodbye party for her at t Postkantoor to give us the opportunity to thank her for everything and to bid her adieu.
In May, Meredith Mull Aggarwal replaced Marie Kummerlowe as the new Delft MaMa Chairwoman. Delft MaMa has made many changes in the past few years as it takes on more activities serving the expat community in Delft. What does it take to steer the DMM ship? Lynette Croxford sat down with both women to talk about their experiences “behind the wheel”. You can also see Marie’s recap of 2018 here. The search for a new chairperson for Delft MaMa has come to an end! Through an open application process, the Delft MaMa Board of Directors selected Meredith Mull Aggarwal.
Delft Mama’s own “Legal Mom,” Marisa Monteiro Borsboom, will be leading the “Legal Mom” column for the Delft Mama Blog. In this column, she and her team will address questions submitted from the community about personal or business legal issues. As an extremely diverse multinational/cultural community, we should expect to see very interesting topics for everyone to consider.
It’s that time of year again; time for expressing your love whether it’s towards a partner, a parent, a child or a friend (and yes, for some, that extends to four-legged ones). After all, most of us love someone or something.

Ten years ago our mom of the week, Maya, met her Dutch husband Erwin. Now they are parents of a six-year-old Naama and Boaz who just turned four. Maya grew up in Israel, studied and did the obligatory military service there before moving abroad. She was familiar with the Netherlands before meeting her husband, but never thought she’d be living in Holland – but as faith would often have it, it’s exactly where she ended up.
